Congaree National Park

We went to Congaree National Park this weekend and it was beautiful. The weather was great this weekend-clear and warmer than it's been. Above are witches knees-they grow up from the bald cypress trees and were everywhere-very neat to see.

JJ hanging out in the pack relaxing....

We saw some other hikers and actually got a picture of the 3 of us that we didn't take ourselves!
This tree was so cool I couldn't resist hopping up on it. They are so tall they're amazing. The trees are hollow and bats live in them and eat all the mosquitos. No, we didn't see any bats and I'm not sure when they're around but hey, they can eat all the mosquitos in the world once they get here. The park was really pretty. We did the self-guided boardwalk path and are going to take the dogs next time on the other trails. It was only 20 minutes away and was a pretty, peaceful getaway.
