We went to the mountains in NC this weekend-near Hendersonville. We stayed in Hendersonville and went to Chimney Rock and Asheville. There were still a lot of gorgeous fall colors all over so the mountains were very pretty. This was our first family vacation together. It was nice to get away for a 4 day weekend. Here we are at the Gem Museum in Hendersonville-there is a dinosaur behind us.

This is the gem mine in Chimney Rock, which is a small village that was quite pretty. We got a bucket of sand and sifted it in the water troughs and found all sorts of pretty gems.

The gem mine was right by the Broad River which is at the base of Chimney Rock-we walked out by the river after we played in the gem mine.
